Amber walked in with 4 black roses in her arms. She placed the next to her sister's bed and sat down. Her sister Averee had been in a coma for three years. She had been out with her boyfriend on night, and as they pulled onto Main street a drunk driver had crashed into them. Averee was 21 when it happened, and her boyfriend had died, while she went strait into a coma. Amber sighed as she recalled the events of the night it had happened.
She was 12, turning 13, and had been talking with her friend on the phone when her aunt had walked into the house. As soon as she heard the news Amber had rushed out of the house and ran the whole six miles to the hospital. Again Amber sighed.
"Hey sis. Brought you flowers." She looked over at the piles of dead flowers that she had brought Averee over the past three years. Every now and then the nurse would take some off, but she'd leave the pretty ones. So now there were two white roses, a red one, and four black. So, the nurse liked roses, and threw away all the daisy's, tulips and every other flower. Amber even remembered getting her sister the Hawaiian state flower once, but it had died short after. Not the smartest thing to do, pick the biggest and oldest looking one in the batch.
"My new school is just as boring as the last. No friends, as always, but what did surprise me is that almost all the girls there are preps. I'm still not one and never will be, my head's not that far up my butt. I'm getting better at piano.... not great, I only have four songs memorized."
